Library Survey 2010-11
Earlier this year the library conducted a user survey asking people to comment on their experience of using the library service.
Over 500 responses were received, with survey respondents providing valuable feedback on topics such as the branches they most regularly visit, the key services used, their level of satisfaction with staff, the range of access options (onsite and online) and resources available.
Information gathered from the survey is available here in two forms:
- a brief breakdown of the aggregate results, and
- a summary report providing some commentary on some of the key findings from the data collected.

St Kilda Esplanade Market Strategic Plan

Cecil St Bike Path Information session
Council is committed to implementing a safer and more sustainable bicycle path for Cecil Street, South Melbourne.

Climate Conversations - Adapting to Climate Change
A recent focus for Council has been assessing what needs to be done to help foster community resilience to a changing climate and extreme weather incidents. On Thursday evening (4/3/2010), Council hosted a community workshop presenting local assessment data and climate projections. The analysis of this data was followed by presentations and group discussions about the strategies Council intends to pursue to adapt to climate change.

Catani Gardens Shade Sail
Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey and provided their comments which helped with the selection of the colour for the shade sails over the new Catani Gardens playground. The survey results are in and it looks like the votes were evenly divided between navy and beach sand colour. After careful consideration Council have decided to chose the navy shade sail colour, as it is the preferred colour of Heritage Victoria and the navy shade sail will provide a slightly greater level of sun protection to the beach sand colour shade.
Construction of the shade sail will take place in November.

West Beach Upgrade Survey
The landscape upgrades to St Kilda West Beach have been completed. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the consultation process – we could not have done it without you!
The final outcome is a thoughtful synthesis of the needs of the community and the unique environment of the site.
We welcome your feedback about council's performance in delivering the landscape upgrades at West Beach. An on- line survey was available which closed on 29 October 2010.

Garden City Upgrade Survey
The landscape upgrades to Garden City Reserve have been completed. Ormond Road PublicToilet
Council sought feedback on a proposed public toilet within the Ormond Road shopping precinct which had been identified in council's public toilet strategy as having a shortage of facilities.
Council was then briefed on the feedback received from residents and traders on the 6th September 2010, various recommendations were presented regarding options for a public toilet facility in this area and after further discussion it was decided that additional options would be considered.
Council maintains its commitment to fulfilling the recommendations set out in the Public Toilet Strategy 2007-2011, by creating a network of accessible public toilets across the city, as well as making appropriate decisions that benefit the community.
