This consultation has concluded.
On Thursday 4 March, Council hosted a community workshop presenting local assessment data and climate projections. The analysis of this data was followed by presentations and group discussions about the strategies Council intends to pursue to adapt to climate change.
The next part of the consultation process is the local action planning sessions. Come along to our six local action planning sessions:
Session one

Session two
Wed 2 June, 6 pm - 9 pm, St Kilda Bowling Club, or

Wed 28 July, 6 pm - 9 pm, St Kilda Bowling Club, or
Sat 7 August, 10 am - 1 pm, South Port Uniting Church

Council's vision is to move to a water sensitive city using a range of water sources. Preparing for a drier climate by conserving water and improving the health of open spaces; capturing alternative water sources; protecting waterways from stormwater pollution.

Sustained drought, increasing temperatures and water restrictions are impacting the health of our trees, plants and open spaces. Council is determined to manage these impacts to ensure the protection of trees and parks in our city. Council's draft Open Space Water Management Plan aims to better manage existing water sources, find and use alternative water sources, and adapt our open spaces to a drier and hotter climate.
